Talent Analyst required in Investment Banking. Proven experience required in a similar role. London city location, excellent daily rate, initial contract until June 2009, starting asap.

Role description

The Talent Reporting team is made up of 5 staff based in London and Stamford. This specialist team are responsible for HR analytical support for Campus and Professional Recruiting, Learning and Development, Talent Management, and Diversity. They are also responsible for providing board level metrics, and managing the Pulse employee satisfaction survey.  

Talent Analysts are expected to provide sophisticated solutions to a range of internal clients. Some aspects of this role will have a high profile, wide impact and many different interfaces. The ability to work as a business partner is essential and client focus is integral to success in the role. The team is involved in working with confidential information, hitting tough deadlines and maintaining accuracy with rapid response times.

The key areas of responsibilities for the Talent Analyst are:

1. Management Reporting and Analysis

  • Provide regular and ad-hoc HR metrics to ensure the business is fully cognisant of trends and key drivers.
  • Develop analytical tools and processes for the delivery of reports and metrics
  • Participate in HR projects
  • Identification and escalation of data integrity issues and inefficient processes

2. System Improvement and Testing

  • Provide input for enhancements and improvements to HR systems and tools. Participate in requirements capture, implementation, and testing of new releases.

  • High levels of customer focus and client relationship skills: able to diagnose issues, design solutions and implement them. Ability to efficiently respond to client queries, assimilate issues and resolve problems with speed. Able to stand back from the detail to identify longer-term solutions and implications.

PEOPLE

  • A self-starter with high drive. The HR Global Reporting team’s core purpose is fluid and is ever adaptable to new work. Analysts must be comfortable to work without exact role structure, and enjoy shaping this and driving outcomes based on an evolving work plan, taking on new work as required.

ECONOMIC

  • Accountable for the efficient and timely completion of projects in line with agreed deadlines
  • To constantly drive for simplicity, excellence, cost efficiency and to consider the ROI of work
  • To seek continuous improvement - always looking for new or better ways of doing things and to generate and value new ideas

FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL

Analysis and Reporting Skills

  • Experienced in data management, reporting and analysis. Understand and execute quality data output. Have a logical and methodical approach. Present data in a logical and structured way.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, able to understand the root cause of problems, manage risk, and identify any need for escalation in a timely manner.

HR System and Technical Knowledge

  • Awareness of how systems/processes work, being involved in systems testing for systems implementation and release improvement.

Technical/Specialist Knowledge

  • Experienced in data management, reporting and analysis essential.
  • Advanced MS Excel essential
  • Intermediate MS Access desirable
  • Knowledge of Business Objects or similar tools (Crystal Reporting, etc) essential
  • PeopleSoft HRMS/reporting experience or similar systems (Oracle, SAP, etc) essential
  • Statistical analysis tools or accountancy techniques desirable

Person Specification

  • Degree level or equivalent required
  • Proven experience in an analytical role within HR
  • Capable of producing ad-hoc work, at speed and to a high degree of accuracy
  • Experience manipulating high volumes of data from multiple sources to create a single overview
