The purpose of this position is to account for trading activity of the treasury businesses and provide appropriate P/L and other control and risk mgmt information to Treasury traders and management.
Your principal responsibilities will include:
Financial Accounting and Corporate reporting (15%) To ensure accuracy of accounts reported for consolidation
Complete all aspects of the reporting process (3B, FDC) for treasury activity within the set corporate deadlines. Produce accurate monthly and quarterly consolidated B/S and P/L. Provide analysis and commentary on B/S and P/L movements.
Reconcile balance sheet and p/l accounts
Ensure recapitalisation process is completed accurately and timely for all entities.
Statutory and Tax reporting (10%) To ensure accuracy of statutory reporting on a timely basis
Take part in producing the annual UK statutory accounts for two UK legal entities.
Ensure full compliance with all UK and US Tax reporting and accounting requirements
Produce information required by various UK and US government bodies
Management accounting and reporting (55%) To ensure accounts are USGAAP compliant and prepared in accordance with Cargill policies, that treasury partners are supplied with accurate and good quality information:
Ensure Treasury partners are provided with relevant trade and accounting information to support GL entries
Monitor and reinforce the control environment within Treasury. Ensure no control breakdowns.
Provide fx exposure reports for Trading desk
Other ad hoc reporting as requested by traders/management
Other (20%) To provide a high quality of service to department's partners - traders, BUs, management
Proactively review procedures to ensure optimum efficiency and adequate controls
Remain up to date and knowledgeable about USGAAP, UK Accounting standards and Cargill Accounting Policies, in particular those applicable to treasury activities.
Provide cover for other Treasury accountants
Numerous ad hoc projects and requests for further analysis of p/l and other financial data

Skills
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent with accounting work experience and will be a CIMA/ACCA trainee You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and will be detail oriented You wil be a pro-active self-starter with strong interpersonal communication ( both spoken and written) You will have good time management and organisation skills You will have strong interest in financial products. Advanced MS Excel skills would be desirable Your experience of treasury products (FX Options, FRA's, CP. FX swaps, NDF's eg) and broad knowledge of Treasury would be an advantage
