Responsible for providing the Managing Director with business and financial plans, interim, year-end and other requested reports for review and distribution to stakeholders. Responsibilities Review, analysis and reporting: - Maintain on-line time allocation system and ensure time sheets are completed by employees on a timely basis
- Allocation of costs to various Funds and other cost centres
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis
- Prepare Luxembourg Sarl annual operating budget and quarterly forecasts
- Prepare Luxembourg Sarl and other entities statutory financial statements under Lux GAAP
- Prepare regular liquidity reports for Luxembourg Sarl
- Review supplier payments
- Implement appropriate accounting policies as agreed with Managing Director
- Liaise with offices and/or third party service providers regarding information requirements.
General ledgers and reporting packs: - Responsible for the maintenance of general ledger chart of accounts for Luxembourg and other entities to ensure completeness, accuracy and consistency
- Review general ledgers, on a monthly basis, for accuracy and completeness; review monthly general journal entries, including accruals, prepayments and reclassifications
- Prepare and reconcile inter-company accounts
- Review and authorise bank reconciliations on a monthly basis for Luxembourg Sarl and other entities.
- Run month end closing procedures
- Preparation of quarterly reporting packs for Luxembourg and other entities
- Prepare annual US tax reporting packs and estimates
Regulatory / Legal / Audits: - Prepare and submit audit work-papers to auditors (internal and external) within the required time frame
- Notify auditors of potential audit issues, material transactions which occurred during fiscal year, and any subsequent events. Answer questions and resolve any issues that may arise
- Prepare information and promptly answer queries for audits, as needed
- To ensure that all regulatory / statutory reporting for Luxembourg Sarl and other entities is completed, reviewed and filed on time
- To review and understand the governing documents of those entities
Management and Supervision: - To understand training and development needs and to liaise with Training Manager accordingly
- To ensure adherence to all internal policies and procedures
Other Functions - Complete special projects as directed by the Managing Director
- Comply with all internal policies and procedures
- Provide assistance to Managing Director and other personnel, as requested
- To liaise with the legal department regarding creating Luxembourg entities required non-Fund related activities
- To liaise with the tax department regarding financing instruments and structures to be
- implemented
- To understand accounting, tax and reporting implications of contracts and other legal documents
- To ensure all intra-group financing documents required are drafted and executed on a timely basis
Skills: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and one other European language
- Ability to read and interpret a variety of manuals, journals, periodicals, abstracts and financial reports
- Good knowledge Lux GAAP is required
- Good knowledge of US GAAP is desirable
- Good knowledge of Luxembourg governance related to holding companies
- Ability to understand complex financial and corporate structures
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and excellent analytical skills
Work Experience: - 3 - 6 years of experience in industry with an international outlook or a public accounting firm
- Holding company (Soparfi) experience is desirable
- Real estate experience is preferred although not a strict requirement
Education Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university or equivalent
- Professional accounting qualification, or part qualification preferred, such as ACCA or CPA
